I can’t fault TCS. I only have good things to say about the support worker role I applied for within the company:

More often than not, my working days are very varied. It keeps my role very exciting. My colleagues and I will take the client out for breakfast in the morning, and then we will usually spend a few hours, if not the full day, trying a fun activity. We always take him out for fun activities such as swimming, water parks, and walks on the beach. It’s great to witness this kind of happiness and see him grow as a person. No day is the same or boring, and that’s something I really love about my role.

Absolutely fantastic company to work for. They really appreciate their workers, offer great rates of pay and really good training. I highly recommend!

An important part of my role at TCS is ensuring our client has a voice. This means finding creative and bespoke ways to share their thoughts and feelings. We use many tools to support this, including written language dictionaries, social stories, and creating a video for the client around communication. It is incredible how much the client’s communication has improved during my time caring for him, and I cannot wait to find new ways to help him communicate more and share his thoughts with us.

By listening to our clients, we can communicate more effectively to ensure he has the best quality of life. Over the past year, our clients has visited the cinema every month. We have taught him the months of the year and that he can go to exciting and fun places. We manage any obstacle together to ensure it is an enjoyable experience. We now have a movie board in his home for all the films that come out for the year.

Working at Thornbury allows me to work with conscientious hardworking professionals, which is great. The nurse rates of pay are excellent too, and I can pick and choose the hours I want

What makes me proud to be a Learning Disability Nurse and an RNLD Clinical Lead at TCS is that I play an active role in changing people’s lives. My role allows me to take a holistic view of our clients and create bespoke action plans to enable them to maximise their full potential.

I love working for Thornbury Community Services as a paediatric clinical lead nurse predominantly because of the sheer joy and fulfilment I experience in assisting a diverse array of children and families. It’s extremely rewarding to contribute positively to their lives. The robust support I receive from TCS in personal and professional aspects enhances my work experience. I appreciate this unique blend of meaningful work and a supportive environment the most.
