More often than not, my working days are very varied. It keeps my role very exciting. My colleagues and I will take the client out for breakfast in the morning, and then we will usually spend a few hours, if not the full day, trying a fun activity. We always take him out for fun activities such as swimming, water parks, and walks on the beach. It’s great to witness this kind of happiness and see him grow as a person. An important part of my role at TCS is ensuring our client has a voice. This means finding creative and bespoke ways to share their thoughts and feelings. We use many tools to support this, including written language dictionaries, social stories, and creating a video for the client around communication. It is incredible how much the client’s communication has improved during my time caring for him, and I cannot wait to find new ways to help him communicate more and share his thoughts with us.
By listening to our clients, we can communicate more effectively to ensure he has the best quality of life. Over the past year, our clients has visited the cinema every month. We have taught him the months of the year and that he can go to exciting and fun places. We manage any obstacle together to ensure it is an enjoyable experience. We now have a movie board in his home for all the films that come out for the year.

The average starting salary for a healthcare assistant/support worker is £22,000 and can increase to £28,000 with experience according to the Government’s National Careers Service.

The frequency of payment is determined by how many timesheets a TCS HCA or support work completes and submits within the week.
Below is a breakdown of the timesheet submission dates and the pay dates for timesheets.
Please note that Monday timesheets of the current week will go through at the earliest on Thursday’s payroll run.
For tax purposes, we can’t pay our healthcare professionals in the same week they have worked.
For example, if a TCS HCA has a shift on a Monday, the earliest they can be paid is the following Monday.
HCA pay rates or wages are payments for the hours or days you have worked. The HCA pay rates can vary depending on the type of shifts you work along with other key factors. With HCA pay rates, the more you work, the more you will earn.
A HCA salary is a fixed payment agreed by the employer and employee on an annual basis. A salary will be stated in the job contract and depending on your employer, you will receive a portion of the salary weekly, biweekly or monthly.
